Una Bellisima Storia d'Amore

Sammy met Hannah in the summer of 2018, whilst sailing around the Caribbean on a cruise ship and it was love at first site, Hannah, the lead vocalist on board Costa Deliziosa and Sammy, hit it off right away and after being on board together decided to move to the Uk and had dreams to open a food establishment. Sammy Basile: Born & Raised in Naples, South Italy, discovered his love for cooking when he has was 7 years old, Hannah's had grown up in a family of foodies, her Brother & Dad both Chefs and Mum a fantastic Pastry Chef and so the story begins..

Basil and Co was founded in 2019. A small street food market stall in Portobello road, Notting hill, where Sammy and Hannah served Italian Street Food, a fantastic start to their journey but after only short lived as a fantastic little restaurant become available in Herne Bay.

They soon settled in and started producing some delicious Italian meals, COVID hit and as devastated as they were had to close down for over a year. Nonetheless, as soon as Sammy and Hannah were given the green light they re-opened their little Bistro and very soon become Kent's number one Italian restaurant, with over 200 5* reviews & an award for 2021 & 2022 "Traveler's Choice"

With that they realised they may have outgrown the little 15 seater restaurant & needed to to re-establish Basil & Co in a larger location, joining forces with their Parents - The Brand New, beautifully decorated & hearty restaurant:

  "Basil and Co, Ristorante Italiano" was formed.

With our 'Executive / Head Chefs' Sammy & Keith (Father & Son in Law) and Front of House Managers Hannah & Tracie (Mother & Daughter) We are truly a Family United by a love of Beautiful food, Great company, and Wonderful memories.

Italian Cuisine produced, prepared and cooked with passion and with one simple aim: To make all guests feel like part of the family and walk away feeling like they have visited Kent's own slice of Italy.

We use the freshest locally sourced ingredients and the finest quality ingredients imported from Italy. We have created a creation of mouth watering dishes presented beautifully and pride ourselves on impeccable service from the moment you walk through our doors. We love to get to know our customers and have built amazing relationships over the years.

We have a small al a carte menu, so that we can freshly cook each meal that comes out of the kitchen but also like to introduce specials each week depending on what they can find when sourcing ingredients.
